At SKORTS’ first show, an amp exploded — call it a freak accident or a catalyzing prophecy — and from there was born a band that refused to arrive quietly. Built on creative chemistry, heart, and hustle, the NYC four-piece has spent the last few years turning heads onstage, earning Oh My Rockness’s Hardest Working Band title, winning Our Wicked Lady’s Winter Madness, and recording a live session for 90.7 WFUV.
Their debut album Incompletement captures that live-wire energy in full: polished, stadium-ready rock with a DIY edge, recorded live across three Brooklyn practice spaces with producer Teddy O’Mara. Following the album’s release, SKORTS wrapped a sold-out US tour supporting Brigitte Calls Me Baby and return this summer with a new track, “Headrush,” out June 19, plus EU dates, their first-ever UK shows, and a London stop at The Shacklewell Arms. A new EP is expected this fall.
Recent momentum includes Iron Blossom alongside Jack White, LCD Soundsystem, and Geese; press from Clash, FLOOD, and Atwood; inclusion in Guitar World’s NYC guitar feature; and a spotlight from UK industry tipsheet Record of the Day.
